Winter Park Ski Resort is located near the town of Winter Park, Colorado. Winter Park Ski Area opened in 1939, under the ownership of the City of Denver with only three formal trails. Now called Winter Park Resort, it has expanded its terrain several times over the years beginning in 1975, with the opening of Mary Jane and then again, in 1986, with the addition of the Vasquez Ridge.

In 1997, an additional 435 acres in the Vasquez Cirque area was added. This is mainly hike to backcountry terrain, which did not receive lift access until 2006. Mary Jane has a reputation throughout the ski and snowboard community for its advanced terrain consisting of moguls, tree skiing and great fall lines.

In 2002, Winter Park Ski Resort entered into a partnership agreement with a vision to transform this gem of a location into a four-season facility complete with a village and amenities. Winter Park is the oldest continually operated resort in Colorado with four great areas to explore, Winter Park, Mary Jane (including Parsenn Bowl), Vasquez Cirque and finally the Vasquez Ridge, all connected by a network of trails and chairlifts.

Winter Park Ski Resort has evolved into a true four-season resort with a village that features great lodging options, dining from casual to more elegant fare, shopping in many of the village outlets, and an arcade with games. It is a great place to take a stroll and perhaps enjoy a hot chocolate.
