The ski area is located approximately 78mi/125km from Seattle at the top of Stevens Pass, next to US Highway 2 in the Cascade Mountain Range in Washington State.

Stevens Pass, the mountain pass was named after John Frank Stevens, who discovered the area in 1890 while working as an American civil engineer for the Great Northern Railway. The Pass reaches an elevation of 4000ft/1219m and connects travellers from the Skykomish Region to Leavenworth, Wenatchee, and the north-central portion of Washington State.

In 1937, Don Adams and Bruce Kehr, both passionate skiers saw their vision realized as Stevens Pass Ski Area (at the summit of Steven Pass), was opened to the public.

Stevens Pass Ski Area has grown from its simple beginnings to an area with expansive terrain located on Cowboy and
Big Chief Mountains, and the backside area known as Mill Valley, which features intermediate to advanced terrain.

Stevens Pass Ski Area has earned a reputation for its vast amount of snowfall and over 1100 acres of skiable terrain that welcomes all levels of skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

On the Slopes

  • Stevens Pass Ski Area has a family-friendly vibe and offers terrain that is a suitable for all members of the family to enjoy. Whether it’s the Blue Trail, Skyline and Easy Trail or the “let’s get serious” terrain of Cloud 9, Rock Garden, and Nancy Chute.
  • Stevens Pass Ski Area features the Tye Bowl, Big Chief Bowl, and Corona Bowl. While they sound like fabulous menu items, these bowls are filled with great powder and provide a challenge that shouldn’t be missed by those with advanced abilities.
  • Stevens Pass Ski Area features three terrain parks good for every level of terrain park enthusiast. The Ridgeline Park is the largest park that goes from the summit to the base area. The Rail Garden is a small to medium terrain park that has access via Brooks and Skyline Express Quads. Finally the Training Grounds is the smallest park with small jumps, rails and boxes.
  • Stevens Pass Ski Area provides both ski and snowboard lessons from a dedicated staff of professional instructors who will help you develop the skills. There are group and private lessons for both teens and adults, as well as the Learn-in-3 Guarantee program, Racing Programs, Adaptive Programs, First-Timer programs, Kids Club for ages 3-12 and the Adventure Club for ages 7-12.

Off the Slopes

  • East of Stevens Pass Ski Area is the city of Leavenworth, Washington and although it is located outside of the 20mi/33km limit it is deemed nearby lodging, this Bavarian-themed city is full of all the charm that one would expect from a European village setting. There are ample lodging choices, dining from casual to formal, as well as shopping choices.
  • Another choice for lodging and only 16mi/26km west of the ski area is the Cascadia Inn, located in Skykomish, Washington.
  • Before, during or after enjoying your day at Stevens Pass Ski Area you’ll discover a good selection of great places for food and beverage. The Granite Peak Lodge, Pacific Crest Lodge, and the Tye Creek Lodge are home to eateries such as Outer Limits Grill, Foggie Goggle Grill, Cascadian Kitchen, T-Bar Market and several others.
  • Stevens Pass Ski Area is home to several shopping options, which include Fall Line Sports and The Edge where you’ll find all your skiing or snowboarding needs, plus the latest fashion accessories.
  • Stevens Pass Ski Area provides a Nordic Center and snowshoe area is located 5mi/8km east of the ski area, and a free shuttle service is provided from the ski area to the Nordic Center. There is an extensive cross-country trail system for both classic and skate style. Rentals, lessons, trail maps and a day lodge are available.
