The ski resort is located in Running Springs, California, near Big Bear Lake. The first ski trails were cut in the 1930’s, which makes Snow Valley Mountain Resort the oldest continually operating ski and snowboard area in Southern California.

In the day lodge there is a series of old photos that reflect the history of Snow Valley and some of the people who have graced the slopes over the past 75 or so years. The ski resort is a regional resort that is perfect for a day on the slopes with the family or a quick day away from the city.

On the Slopes

  • Snow Valley Mountain Resort has become known, as a great place to learn to ski or board; however, there is ample space and challenge for the advanced skier or boarder higher up.
  • Looking to take in a bit of night skiing, many of the trails frontside of the mountain, including The Edge, Mambo Alley, Eagle Flats and more are open Friday and Saturday evening during the season.
  • Thinking terrain parks, well you are in luck, Snow Valley Mountain Resort has three parks to entertain everyone from the novice rider to the more advanced park enthusiasts. The Rim Progression Park is designed for the novice park seeker, whereas, The Edge and Hideout Jib Park, complete with C-Walls, Trapezoid Box, Flat Boxes and much more is a to test the intermediate and more advanced terrain park users.
  • Looking to introduce your children to the world of snow sports, Snow Valley Mountain Resort provides a dedicated Children’s Learning Center, with a conveyor lift to allow getting up the slopes much easier. Lessons are available for skiing and snowboarding.
  • At Snow Valley Mountain Resort, you’ll find several different ski or snowboard lesson options available for everyone from the first-timer on the slopes or for those just looking to revitalize their skills with a private lesson.
  • Snow Valley Mountain Resort is a family friendly area with wide trails that accommodate all ability levels. Make sure to take advantage of the affordable Family Fun Pack, which includes lift tickets for 2 adults and 2 children (7-12). Note: blackout periods apply during holidays and tickets are available at the ticket window only. Check the Snow Valley site for current rates and availability.

Off the Slopes

  • Do you have a birthday during the winter season, if yes, this may be of an interest to you. Ski or snowboard for free on your birthday with a valid ID proving this is your day. Just bring it to guest services and start your day with a smile.
  • Looking for an alternative to skiing or snowboarding, then the Snow Play sledding area is a great change pace. Sleds are included in the ticket price, with operating hours from 10:00am to 4:00pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
  • In the day lodge, you’ll find Snow Valley Sport Shop; that can provide you with all the essentials you need for a day on the slopes; clothing, goggles, gloves, as well as, souvenir items to remember your visit.
  • At Snow Valley you have several options to choose from when it comes to food and beverage; Chalet Restaurants, Patio BBQ, and Deer Meadow Grille. Looking for more of a cozy atmosphere, then check out the Last Run Lounge for a break from the slopes or at the end of the day to tell a story or two.
  • Snow Valley has primarily known as a day use/regional resort, however, if you are in need of lodging the surrounding communities including Running Springs, Lake Arrowhead, Crestline and Big Bear Lake offer a variety of options from cabin rentals to motels, or luxury hotels.
