The ski resort is located southeast of the town of Taos, New Mexico. Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort has grown from the early days in 1952 when Lloyd and Olive Bolander founded the resort to a quaint four-season vacation spot that is the oldest resort in the state of New Mexico.

Sipapu Ski Resort is situated along side a quiet stretch of road in the Sangre Cristo Mountains and Carson National Forest. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy some old-fashioned friendliness and forget about life for a while, Sipapu Ski Resort is just what you are looking for.

The Resort truly prides itself on being a welcoming family- friendly resort that strives to make family getaways affordable. There is also a full service ski and snowboard shop at the base of the mountain.

On the Slopes

  • Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort has a selection of terrain to entertain the entire family. The lower trails off the main chairlift are a collection beginner and intermediate terrain you can also find the Kids Fun Zone here. Higher up the mountain you will discover the advanced and expert terrain that is perfect for the advanced skier and snowboarder.
  • The ski and snowboard school offers various programs to assist all ages to gain improvement on the slopes.
  • Sipapu Ski Resort has three terrain parks located on the mountain and two of these parks are organic. Organic meaning the parks are constructed with resources found only within the local area, making these parks the only organic terrain parks in the state of New Mexico. Each park offers something different in the way of rails, boxes and jumps.

Off the Slopes

  • Despite the quaintness of Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort there is a nice of selection of mountainside lodging options for all seasons; options available range from apartments, bunkrooms, cabins, hotel rooms and suites. There are also several dining options, a general store and a retail outlet.
  • Exploring the local area nearby is an option for a day away from the slopes. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing along with sledding and tubing are a great way to compliment your vacation, whether traveling as an individual or with the entire family.
  • A trip to Taos is an option if you want a different pace and the opportunity to experience some of the arts and cultural it is known for and to examine the history of Taos and New Mexico. Taos offers a great selection of shopping, restaurants of all types and museums to more than fill your day.
