Saskadena Six Ski Area is a ski and snowboard area located in south Promfret, Vermont. The Saskadena Six Ski Area dates back to 1936 with the installation of its first rope tow and was the location of the first National Snow Surfing Championships in 1982, considered an important event in the development of snowboarding as a sport.
The mountain contains a wide-open black diamond trail known as The Face, however, do not let that keep you away from this gem of a ski and snowboard area.
Saskadena Six holds a special place in the hearts of many. If you are looking for easier terrain, visit the runs of Milky Way or from the top of the new Quad Chair installed for the 2016-2017 winter season, you can enjoy the Easy Mile trail to the base area.
The ski area has terrain to match all ability levels and is one of the most family-friendly ski and snowboard areas in Vermont.
On the Slopes
- If blue intermediate terrain is more of an interest, try Bunny’s Boulevard, Skyline or Double Dip. The ultimate challenge is a double black trail, known as the Back Scratcher, but as the name suggests be careful not to fall and scratch your back.
- Looking for a terrain Park, Saskadena Six has it, complete with sufficient jumps, rails and other tricks to make your park experience a memorable one regardless of your ability.
- In need of a break, make your way to the day lodge where you can relax and enjoy a snack in the Twilight Bistro or Cascades Restaurant.
Off the Slopes
- Looking for an activity away from the mountain, 18mi/30km of groomed Nordic Trails can be found near the Woodstock Inn and Resort. This is a complimentary service for guests of the Inn.
- While you in the area make some time and visit the Billings Farm and Museum where you can catch a glimpse of Vermont’s rural heritage and experience a working dairy farm. Check their website for hours of operation.
- There is a continuous commentary shuttle that runs from the Woodstock Inn and Resort to Saskadena Six, 7 days a week for your convenience. Contact the front desk of the Woodstock Inn and Resort or phone 1-888-338-2745 for more information and shuttle times.
