The Resort is located east of Salt Lake City, Utah, in the city of Park City, Utah. Park City Mountain Resort opened on December 21, 1963 and was originally known as Treasure Mountain. In 1967, it became Park City Ski Area and then in 1996 the name was changed to its present name, which is well known within the ski and snowboard community.

The mountain was originally a silver mining area and to this day a few remnants can be spotted at various locations on the mountain. Aerial trams that once hauled ore were converted into chairlifts. Today there remains more than 1000mi/1600km of workings and tunnels under the slopes.

Park City Mountain Resort had the honour of hosting the snowboarding events and the men’s and women’s alpine giant slalom events during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Choosing where to Ski and Snowboard in the Park City Region has taken a huge leap forward as Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Village at Park City (formerly Canyons Resort) are being connected via the new 8 passenger cabins on the high-speed Quick Silver Gondola.

The gondola with an estimated 8.5 minutes of travel time is situated near the bottom of the Silverlode Express chairlift on Park City Mountain Resort and travels to the top of Iron Mountain at Canyons Village at Park City. The excitement that both of these great areas offer in the way of both on and off the mountain through their terrain and base area villages will keep you coming back.

Park City Mountain Resort has now established itself as America’s largest ski resort with over 300 total trails, 41 lifts and 7300 total acres of skiable terrain.
