The ski resort has earned the distinct reputation as an affordable family-friendly downhill ski and snowboard area that is located in the small community of Nordic Valley in Weber County, Utah.
Nordic Valley Ski Resort was the vision of Arthur Christiansen, a home builder, and developer from Salt Lake City who purchased the 900 acre Silver Bell Ranch, which included mountainside terrain.
After several years of planning, Nordic Valley Ski Resort opened to the public in 1968 with a few trails and a rope tow. Throughout the years, Nordic Valley Ski Resort added new trails, new lifts, and more advanced terrain, and night skiing on 100% of the Mountain.
The Ski Resort has a few things that have stood the test of time, starting with the signature day lodge that was once a barn on the original ranch, and the fact that there are no crowds, great customer service, and truly incredible views of the surrounding Eden country-side. You will be glad you made an effort to spend some time here as Nordic Valley Ski Resort could be characterized as a place where everyone is welcome!
On the Slopes
- If you take the Apollo chairlift to the top, you will not only have access to the breathtaking scenery below but from here you can ski or ride the Falling Star advanced trail from top to bottom. Also from the Apollo lift, you can enjoy the beginner and intermediate terrain of Gold Rush and Old Barn Run from the summit to the base area.
- You’ll also find a Terrain Park filled with rails, boxes, rollers and kickers that is accessible from either the Crockett or Bridger Lifts.
- Nordic Valley Ski Resort is also known as Utah’s best resort for Night Skiing so make sure to visit and ski under the stars.

Off the Slopes
- The day lodge features an extensive rental shop, small retail shop, ticket office, cafeteria serving hot, delicious meals at The Grill where friends and family can enjoy pizza, burgers, fries and of course hot chocolate to keep you warm on a cold winter day.
- There are no mountain lodging options available at the Nordic Valley Ski Resort, but nearby is Eden with several options, or you can stay in Ogden, approximately 45 minutes away, where you can find hotels, motels, B&B’s and now Airbnb’s.
- In Eden, you will find a selection of locally owned restaurants such as Eats of Eden where you will find lots of comfort food and home cooking. In Ogden, restaurants range from cafes and pubs to well-known chains. There’s also a good selection of shopping in both areas ranging from local favorites to well-known big box stores in Ogden.
- At the Nordic Valley Ski Resort and the surrounding area, you’ll find activities such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on the groomed trails of the golf course. There is also the popular Snow Tubing area at the ski resort operated by Wasatch Parc, call 801-931-7880 for more info.
