Mont Avila Ski Area, aka Versant Avila is part of the Laurentian Mountains, approximately 45 minutes north of Montreal, Canada. The resort is located in the Saint Sauveur Valley, a beautiful area surrounded by mountains, and a popular winter recreation destination that dates back to the early 1900’s earning it the reputation as the home of the Quebec Ski Industry.

Mont Avila Ski Area is known throughout the region as a welcoming place to learn to ski or snowboard. There is a dedicated learning area along with a chairlift to make your first experience on the slopes a smooth one. Mont Avila ski area strives to provide the ultimate family experience both day and night, offering skiing every day of the week on all 13 trails.

In 1989, after years of effort by Jacques G Hebert, president of Mont Saint Sauveur International (MSSI) the individual ski areas of Mont Saint Sauveur and Mont Avila jointed together. This collaboration now provided skiers and riders easy access to both trail systems through the interconnected trail layout.

On the Slopes

• Mont Avila Ski Area features incredible views of the valley below, both during the day and at night. The Jack Rabbit trail for the beginner and Express Est for the experienced snowrider offer top-to-bottom fun.
• Mont Avila Ski Area has earned a reputation that reaches far beyond the Saint Sauveur Valley when it comes to its snow parks. Big Jumps, Rail, and Boxes attract visitors from all over.
• The Snow School has a group of dedicated professionals ready to get you on the slopes through group, private or dedicated programs.
• The main base lodge at the Mont Avila Ski Area features a retail outlet, rentals and repairs, plus a cafeteria.

Off the Slopes

• Off-mountain activities include a snow tubing area, the Viking, an alpine roller coaster, a double zipline known as Dragon at nearby Mont Saint Sauveur, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
• The Saint Sauveur Valley features at least a dozen lodging options, including the Manior Saint Sauveur, Le Relais St-Denis, and Hotel St-Sauveur. There is also shopping and a vast selection of dining options available.
