The ski area is located in the beautiful countryside setting of Londonderry, Vermont on Glebe Mountain. The origins of the nearby town of Londonderry date back to the 1700’s when it became a base for farming and industry.

The 1960s were an exciting time in the history of the community as it started to establish itself as a winter recreation destination that offered some of the most diverse terrain in the region. It began with the opening of few trails on Magic Mountain Ski Area in 1960, which was established by Hans Thorner, a Swiss-born ski instructor. In 1962, he saw his dream realized as skiers made use of the first chairlift installed on the mountain.

Unique to the Magic Mountain is the Magic Alpine Training Center where Race and Freeskiing programs are available for children 8 to 18 years’ old who are interested in learning the techniques needed to compete in Alpine Racing and Freeskiing.

While Magic Mountain Ski Area continues to expand its terrain and add lifts, it still delivers an affordable family experience, powder days, and great memories.

  • If you prefer to experience more of the local flavour, the nearby town of Londonderry has a good selection of hotels, motels, and B&B’s. There are also many places to eat, as well as shopping options in town.
