The ski area is located in West Vancouver, British Columbia and is in the boundaries of the Cypress Provincial Park. It is one of the mountains that make up what is known as the North Shore Mountains.

Cypress Mountain Ski Area is comprised of two mountain areas, Black Mountain and Mount Strachan. Both mountains enjoy a common base area and provide night skiing and snowboarding. In 2007, the ski area expanded their terrain for the first time in more than two decades with the addition of 9 new runs.

Cypress Mountain Ski Area was the official Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding venue for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. In March of 1987 Cypress Mountain was the first British Columbia Ski Area to open its slopes to snowboarding.

On the Slopes

  • With unsurpassed terrain, the largest vertical drop on the North Shore, Cypress Mountain Ski Area has something for all levels of skiers or snowboarders abilities.
  • For the terrain park enthusiast Cypress Mountain Ski Area has six parks, ranging from the entry level park, Stomping Ground all the way to the more advanced, Skate, Patio, The District, Sunrise Bowl and Gnarly's Den.
  • If a challenge is part of your itinerary take the Raven Quad Chair and head for the double black terrain of Black Fly, Meteor and Black on Black. If you are looking for an easier route, check out Collins on Mount Strachan or Panorama on Black Mountain.
  • If Mother Nature is on your side during your visit, you will be treated to spectacular views of the city of Vancouver and its harbour along with Gulf Islands and as far away as Mt Baker to the south.

Off the Slopes

  • After a day or evening on the slopes, stop into the Cypress Creek Lodge and enjoy a little après-ski at the Cypress Creek Grill, Gold Medal Café or the Crazy Raven Bar and Grill.
  • The Cypress Snow Bus is available for transport to the mountain from various pickup points in the city of Vancouver. Check the link below for further details. This is a paid service.
  • Cypress Mountain Ski Area is one of Vancouver’s premier winter playgrounds and offers an array of activities including a popular cross-country ski and snowshoe area - Hollyburn Ridge, plus a huge tube park with 6 chutes that can accommodate up 200 people.
