The ski resort is the first new ski resort in the United States that has been built from the ground up in over 25 years. The resort is the vision of John Chadwick a long-time resident of Utah, who with the support of his family, decided to build a truly family-friendly ski resort in the mountains near Richmond Utah on land the family has owned for over 40 years.

After several years of planning, design, and regulatory hurdles, Cherry Peak Ski Resort opened to the public on December 21, 2015, with a beautiful 14,000 square foot day lodge, two Triple Chairlifts, and a magic carpet. Cherry Peak Ski Resort also offers a vast beginners area for skiing and snowboarding and a two-lane tubing center.

The resort earned its name from the mountain peak located at the rear of the resort known as Cherry Peak. Even though Cherry Peak Ski Resort is new, it does come with some built-in history as its chairlifts were purchased from the well-known ski resorts of Whistler Blackcomb, Sun Valley Resort, and Squaw Valley Ski Resort. In addition to the great skiing in the winter, Cherry Peak offers concerts, mountain biking and a magnificent lodge that hosts special events, such as weddings during the summer.

On the Slopes

  • Cherry Peak Ski Resort features an even balance of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain. Chimney and Gangway are two fun intermediate trails located on the Summit side of the ski area, accessible by the Summit Triple Chairlift.
  • Cherry Peak Ski Resort features advanced terrain on the Downfall and Velocity trails located near the Gateway Triple Chairlift on the front side of the ski area.
  • For those who wish to combine incredible views of the valley below and play in the terrain park, you’ve come to the right place. The park is located by the Vista Chair and hosts rails, boxes and other features.
  • The Ski and Snowboard School is operated by a dedicated group of instructors whose main goal is to teach both skiers and snowboarders to improve their skill set with latest techniques and to get the most fun out of your day on the slopes.

Off the Slopes

  • The day lodge is a beautiful wooden structure with a majestic fireplace that features an extensive rental shop, ticket office, retail shop and a cafeteria serving hot, delicious meals, lockers and Wi-Fi for all your internet needs.
  • If you are wondering if there are other activities at Cherry Peak Ski Resort during the winter, the answer is yes. There is a Tubing Center and a Nordic loop for cross-country skiers or for snowshoeing.
  • There is no mountain-side lodging available at Cherry Peak Ski Resort. However, you will find many fine hotels, motels, and B&B’s in nearby Logan, Utah, which is an about a 40-minute drive from the mountain.
  • You’ll also find a good selection of restaurants in both Richmond and Logan, Utah that range from local independents to well-known chains and shopping can be found at local favorites along with well-known big box stores.
  • Cherry Peak Ski Resort is located only a short distance from US Highway 91 in Richmond, Utah. Use the Cherry Peak Ski Resort Directions Map link to make your travel easier as you drive through the community of Richmond. Be prepared as winter road conditions can change quickly.
