Canyons Village at Park City is located east of Salt Lake City, Utah and a short drive west of the city of Park City, Utah. The mountain area originally opened as Park City West in 1968. Over the last few decades it has undergone several name changes. In 2010 the current name Canyons Resort was born.
The Resort has transformed from its humble beginnings to earn a Top 10 Ranking in Ski Magazine’s 2012 and 2013 editions of the Top 50 Resorts in North America. This has been achieved through continuous improvements and innovation, such as being the first mountain resort in North America to have a high-speed quad chair with heated seats.
Choosing where to Ski and Snowboard in the Park City Region has taken a huge leap forward as Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Village at Park City (formerly Canyons Resort) are being connected via the new 8 passenger cabins on the high-speed Quick Silver Gondola.
The gondola with an estimated 8.5 minutes of travel time is situated near the bottom of the Silverlode Express chairlift on Park City Mountain Resort and travels to the top of Iron Mountain at Canyons Village at Park City. The excitement that both of these great areas offer in the way of both on and off the mountain through their terrain and base area villages will keep you coming back.
Park City Mountain Resort has now established itself as America’s largest ski resort with over 300 total trails, 41 lifts and 7300 total acres of skiable terrain.
On the Slopes
- Canyons Village at Park City is a collection of nine peaks spread over 4000 acres. The vastness of the terrain is incredible, and it is advisable to carry a trail map, just in case you find yourself off track.
- The resort features 5 bowls and receives an average of 355in/902cm of snow each year. There is endless terrain for every style and ability, whether you are looking for vast, long runs, great powder days or steep and steeper runs that will simply kick your butt.
- Canyons Village at Park City has two Terrain Parks that feature jump lines, rails, boxes, rainbows and other jibs. One of the terrain parks can be accessed from the Saddleback Express and the other from the Sun Peak Express.

Off the Slopes
- The Resort provides a pedestrian-friendly village complete with everything from dining, shopping, accommodation and transportation to make your stay as memorable as possible.
- The mountain has a lovely base area setting that is welcoming to all visitors, whether you are a family, an individual or couple. There is something for everyone.
- There is no shortage of dining options whether you are slope-side or strolling the base area. With approximately 19 dining options off all varieties, you’ll certainly find something to please your taste.
- If you need a little time to explore Canyons Village at Park City without the younger ones, check the daycare center or the several other children’s programs that are offered.
