Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont and Escape2ski connect you to skiing, snowboarding, snow reports, trail maps, lift tickets, lodging and webcams. The Resort is located near the town of Ludlow in Central Vermont. The town of Ludlow gained a reputation as a mill town, and then as a factory town as people moved into the area seeking employment at the General Electric plant. This provided a stable economic climate for the town of Ludlow and the nearby Okemo Mountain Resort until 1977 when the General Electric closed its facility, leaving the town to rely mostly on tourism. Okemo Mountain Resort opened on January 31, 1956 with only a few trails serviced by two Poma Lifts. It was the vision of several local businessmen hoping to attract winter enthusiasts to the area. Further development and expansion at Okemo Mountain Resort began in 1961 with the introduction of mountainside lodging to attract the vacationing skier. The early 1960’s also witnessed the addition of four more Poma Lifts and finally to the delight of the skiers in the 1965, the first chairlift; a double was added. The Resort has stood the test of time and has been going strong for more than 50 years. Today, Okemo Mountain Resort is a four-season ski and snowboard area that has earned its place as an incredible destination resort.

On the Slopes

  • Okemo Mountain Resort has two base areas where you can start your day on the slopes - Clock Tower and Jackson Gore. There are over 120 trails at Okemo, and they are almost evenly divided between beginner, intermediate and advanced trails, which allows every ability level to enjoy this mountain resort. An expansive number of trails are set on two mountain peaks, Okemo Peak, and Jackson Gore Peak, and all areas of the mountain are easily accessible.
  • Another great feature at Okemo Mountain Resort is that the four main areas on the mountain are all serviced by high-speed chairlifts to get you to the slopes faster. Also, new for the 2014/15, is a new six-passenger chairlift, the Sunburst Six complete with heated seats and bubbles. Okemo has it covered when it comes to snowmaking with the ability to blanket 96% of the terrain when Mother-Nature is not so generous.
  • Okemo Mountain Resort has 10 unique terrain parks and pipes just waiting to take your breath away! The terrain park atmosphere is one that will challenge all ability levels, starting with Homeward Bound, a great park for the novice just trying to increase their skill set, all the way to Rockstar Terrain Park a challenge for even the most experienced enthusiasts. All terrain parks are complete with jumps, rails, boxes and many more features for your total enjoyment.
  • The Ski & Ride School has a vast selection of lessons and programs available for children, adults and groups, as well as, private sessions, specialty clinics, and adaptive and women’s programs.
