Northstar California Ski Resort and Escape2ski connect you to skiing, snowboarding, snow reports, trail maps, lift tickets, lodging and webcams. The Ski Resort is located on Lake Tahoe’s north shore in Placer County. The origins of Northstar California was not as a ski and snowboard destination but home to a lumber site owned by the Douglas Lumber Co of Truckee, California. The resort opened in December 1972 under the name Northstar-at-Tahoe which is only a short drive from the historic lumber town of Truckee, California. Northstar California as we know it today has grown from a humble start into a four-season resort complete with a vibrant village and incredible amenities. The resort is located about 45 minutes from Reno, Nevada and is accessible by four major airports. Shuttle services are also available to the resort from Reno, North Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, and the Bay area.

At Escape2ski you’ll find out – What to know…before the snow.
