Mount Snow is located in the West Dover region of southern Vermont. It is the closest big mountain to many northeast metropolitan areas. Mount Snow Ski Resort is actually located on Mount Pisgah and received its name from Reuben Snow, who sold 500 acres on the mountain to Walt Schoenknecht in May of 1953. Walt was a man with an ambitious vision of creating a winter recreation area on Mount Pisgah (Mount Snow) after he visited the area in the 1940’s. From it humble beginnings; Mount Snow Ski Resort has enjoyed almost too many changes to mention. Today it is recognized as a world-class facility that is dedicated to making continual improvements through the expansion of terrain, lifts and services. Mount Snow Ski Resort is a four-season resort family resort with mountain-side lodging options in various locations throughout the mountain area, including the Grand Summit Lodge and Snow Lake Lodge.
