Big Sky Resort in Montana and Escape2ski provide you with information about this ski resort, such as its vertical drop of 4350ft / 1326m, total trails of 300, closest airport 53mi / 85km, plus resort activities, snow reports, resort trail map, slope-side lodging options, webcams and a total of 34 lifts.

This family-friendly resort is located in Madison County in southwestern Montana. Big Sky Resort opened in December 1973 as the result of the vision of the late NBC newscaster and Montana native, Chet Huntley.

In Oct 2013, Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin (Big Sky’s neighbour on the north boundary) merged together to form one of the largest ski resorts in the United States. This magnificent area definitely lives up to its slogan, “America’s Biggest Skiing. Period”. With runs up to six miles long and glades and bowls covered in 400+ inches of annual snowfall, there’s something different for everyone.
